John E. Wilkinson
John E. “Jed” Wilkinson is President and Chief Executive Officer of First State Financial Corporation and First State Bank. He joined First State Bank in November 2002, serving as Executive Vice President-Senior Retail Officer and Executive Vice President-Chief Operating Officer, before being promoted to President and CEO in April 2007.
Mr. Wilkinson is a lifelong resident of Florida and began his Florida banking career in 1970. He is active in various civic and community organizations, most recently serving on the Board of Governors and Past Chairman of the Board of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce, Suncoasters-Festival of States, Downtown St. Petersburg Partnership, and American Stage. He also is actively involved in supporting and improving education efforts, especially in the workforce, as a consultant to the Superintendent of Schools, Pinellas County, the Pinellas County Education Foundation, and the Advisory Board to the College of Banking at St. Petersburg College.

David Ruppel
David Ruppel is Division President Pinellas County. Mr. Ruppel served as Executive Vice President of First State Bank for three years and has more than 30 years of banking experience in the Tampa Bay area. He chairs the following committees for the bank: Enterprise Risk Management, and Focused Sales Training. Before joining First State Bank, Mr. Ruppel served as the President and CEO of Florida Bank of Pinellas and has held senior management positions at SouthTrust Bank, Southeast/First Union and Community Bank of Pinellas. In addition to banking, Mr. Ruppel is also an active member of the community, serving on multiple boards for diverse charitable and civic organizations. He has served as Board Member, Chairman or President of Clearwater Jazz Holiday Foundation, All Children’s Hospital Foundation, Drug-Free Work Place, Inc., Gold Shield Foundation, Madeira/Redington Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club of the Gulf Beaches, St. Patrick Catholic School and The Willa Carson Health Resource Center.

Dennis Grinsteiner
Dennis Grinsteiner currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Grinsteiner joined First State Bank in May 2003 as Senior Vice President and Chief Executive Officer and of First State Financial Corporation since January 2005. Prior to joining First State, Mr. Grinsteiner served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Cashier of Southern Exchange Bank from 1997 to 2003.

Les Snyder
Les Snyder currently holds the position of Executive Vice President, Senior Credit Officer since joining First State Bank in 2006. Prior to this position Mr. Snyder was with SouthTrust Bank were he held various positions including Vice President, Credit Administration Department; Vice President, Commercial/Middle Market Lending and Senior Vice President and North Pinellas Commercial Lending Team Leader. Mr. Snyder has over 20 years continuing experience in all aspects of banking and commercial lending. Mr. Snyder is a CPA and an alumni of USF, and Georgetown University.

Patricia Rhodes
Patricia Rhodes currently holds the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Ms. Rhodes joined First State Bank in August 2005 as Vice President Branch Coordinator and Trainer. In January 2007, she was promoted to Senior Vice President Branch Coordinator/Training Administration. Prior to joining First State Bank, Ms. Rhodes held various management positions within SouthTrust Bank from 1987 to 2005. She is involved in the Pinellas community by volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, Pinellas Animal Foundation, American Heart Association and the United Way.

Paul Thatcher
Paul Thatcher currently holds the position of President Sarasota Division. Mr. Thatcher joined First State Bank in 2005 as Senior Vice President/Senior Lender. Mr. Thatcher brings over 36 years of finance and banking experience to the position. Christa Tefft
Christa Tefft is the Vice President and Branch Manager of our Venice office. Ms. Tefft joined First State Bank in October of 2003 and has been in the banking industry in Sarasota and Charlotte County since 1990. Ms. Tefft has been a community banker for the better part of her career and has truly focused on the one on one personal service that a community bank can provide. As a member of the community, Ms. Tefft has been involved in supporting many local YMCA events, along with the March of Dimes and Chamber events.

Rim Karnavicius
Rim Karnavicius is a Mortgage Specialist with the Pinellas County Residential Team at First State Bank. Mr. Karnavicius joined First State Bank in February of 2006 and has over 22 years of mortgage lending experience in Pinellas County. Mr. Karnavicius holds Bachelor of Arts and Sciences and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Florida, and is a member of the Emerging Artists Program with the St. Petersburg Opera Company.
